- test drove vehicle to get to operating temperature and i duplicated the customers concern. checked the coolant level and temperature, found that it is working as it should. Scanned truck and found two codes in ECM: #P2002, and #P203F. The check engine light is not currently on and will advise further if it comes back on. I'm requesting 2 hours to flush the heater core out to see if we can get some heat back. If no heat comes back further diagnostics may be required. If we get heat back that tell me the heater core is clogged and will need to be replaced.
- Removed the heater core hoses and back flushed the heater core with hot water and compressed air. Filled the cooling system back up and ran the truck. Found that the heat is working but is not hot. Recommend to remove and replace the heater core and then recheck for proper operation of the cooling system.
- Removed and replaced the heater core. Vacuumed down the cooling system and found that the cooling system held vacuum for more then 10 minutes. Filled the cooling system back up with fresh coolant and pressure tested the cooling system. Found that the cooling system held 15lbs of pressure for more then 10 minutes. Filled the A/C system back up with fresh R134a and tst drove truck. Found that the heat is working as it should at this time and so is the A/C. Have no further concerns with the heater core at this time. If the truck begins to not blow hot air again then further diag will need to be performed. Removed and replaced the cabin air filter during dash removal.
- I cleaned the vinyl under the seats while they were out of the truck, the vinyl is worn through the top wear layer. the floor mats are beyond my repair but i did put a Griot's repair compound and it did clean nice. cleaned each seat doors and dash, also cleaned the inside of the windows and windshield. i have no further concerns with cleanness at this time.
